Dr. Vijay Chechani joins our elite group of doctors at Kymera Independent Physicians bringing over 37 years of superior healthcare experience.

Dr. Vijay Chechani, MD, FACP, FCCP is quadruple Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Internal Medicine.  Dr. Chechani is an established physician and has dedicated over 37 years to providing superior healthcare to his patients. He has a wealth of expertise and has proven himself to be one of the top Sleep Doctors and Pulmonologists in all of Southeastern New Mexico. Dr. Chechani has provided compassionate patient care at several healthcare facilities here in Roswell, including his own practice, Sleep Diagnostic Center of New Mexico for 14 years.

Dr. Chechani completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY in 1989.  Prior to that, he completed his Residency and Internship in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, in 1987.      Some of his accomplishments include writing a multitude of Abstracts and Publications, for a complete list visit: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=chechani%20v&sort=date. Dr. Chechani also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM and at University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, MO.

Dr. Chechani’s extensive knowledge, experience, and superior training as a Pulmonologist, Sleep Doctor, Internal Medicine Doctor and a Critical Care Medicine Specialist, makes him an invaluable physician in our community.

• Governor of American College of Chest Physicians in New Mexico for 2 terms
• President, New Mexico Chapter, American Thoracic Society, 2000

After taking a year off to travel and spend time with family, Dr. Chechani is excited to be back to serve his patients now from Kymera Independent Physicians in Roswell.
