Kymera Independent Physicians is a multispecialty medical group consisting of three clinics and a staff of over 160 serving Southeastern New Mexico.
History of Kymera Independent Physicians
Founded by Dr. Masoud Khorsand, a Roswell resident and physician, as Southeastern New Mexico Internal Medicine, Kymera has grown to become an integral part of the SENM community, providing superior medical services and treatments to thousands of our neighbors each year.
Dr. Khorsand believes in providing superior, quality care in a convenient, comfortable setting.
Starting the practice with Hematology and Oncology, Dr. Khorsand has been providing cancer treatments and care for patients with blood disorders since 1998. His method is to apply time-tested approaches while staying on top of current research and treatments.
Dr. Khorsand further believes that patients want technologically advanced care combined with small-town caring. He holds that each patient is unique, each situation calling for expert, specialized treatments that are often too far away to have been performed. This belief led him to seek ways to offer multiple specialties under one roof.

Kymera Independent Physicians is dedicated to providing accessible, innovative, superior quality health care to the residents of Roswell, Carlsbad, Hobbs, and the surrounding communities of Southeastern New Mexico. Kymera accepts most private insurance, self-pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare.
Kymera: Expanding to Better Serve Patients
By providing outstanding cancer care in Roswell, patients from throughout Southeastern New Mexico were seeking out the services of Dr. Khorsand. Noting how many patients were traveling considerable distances to come to his clinic, he quickly adapted to their needs.
In 2004, Dr, Khorsand opened a cancer center in Carlsbad and another in Hobbs by 2006. This allowed him to provide the same outstanding cancer care closer to the home of many of his patients.
Vision
Kymera Independent Physicians will introduce and establish a multi-specialty independent physician group that places the medical needs of the community first. The group will stabilize and enhance access to quality and timely health care in Southeastern New Mexico while providing an environment for growth and expansion based on a financially viable physician practice.
New Name, Same Great Care
By July 2008, Dr. Khorsand was able to realize his dream to treat multiple conditions under the same roof. He was able to expand into a full multispecialty medical group. This resulted in a name change to Kymera Independent Physicians.
Kymera provides Roswell, Carlsbad, Hobbs and Southeastern New Mexico with multidisciplinary medical care in the areas of

- Neurology,
- Endocrinology,
- Family and Internal Medicine,
- Infusion Therapy,
- Laboratory and Radiology services.
The group works with 10 providers and multiple support staff in these communities to deliver quality and timely healthcare.
Kymera believes this is a prime concern for the residents of our community and will continue to expand our services to meet these needs.

Continued Expansion to Provide for SENM Residents
In 2012 Dr. Khorsand recognized another need in the Roswell community, so he opened Kymera Urgent Care. The facility provided well for the community, but for reasons related to staffing, it had to close.
Staffing remains one of the top challenges for Kymera Independent Physicians. We have tough hiring standards but are always looking for talented, compassionate clinicians. If you know of one, please refer him or her to our Provider Recruiting page.
Despite these difficulties, in 2016, Kymera expanded its services again by opening a multi-disciplinary clinic in Roswell. Roswell MDC has on-site laboratory and radiology services and accepts walk-ins for the patient’s convenience.
