Welcome Dr. Luis F. Gonzalez to Kymera Independent Physicians!

Kymera Independent Physicians is proud to announce the newest addition to our team, Dr. Luis F. Gonzalez, a Board-Certified physician in Internal Medicine, who will be providing exceptional hematology and oncology care to patients in Southeastern New Mexico from our Roswell Clinic.

Dr. Gonzalez brings a robust clinical background and a deep-seated passion for patient care. Before joining Kymera, he completed his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He honed his skills during his Internal Medicine Residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY, where he also served as a Chief Resident, completing his residency in 2021.

He attended medical school at Universidad Catolica Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador, where he began his studies in 2009 and developed an early interest in hematology and medical education. Dr. Gonzalez is a dedicated scholar, having authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in prestigious medical journals. His work spans critical topics, including lung adenocarcinoma in pregnancy, outcomes in myeloproliferative neoplasms, and the hematologic implications and mortality related to COVID-19, as well as various insightful case reports. His significant contributions to medical knowledge have been presented at esteemed national and international conferences, including the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the Tandem Meeting (a collaborative event of the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy and the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research), and the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Congress.  Currently he is collaborating in a retrospective study with CIBMTR about safety and efficacy of CAR-T cells in relapsed/refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia with central nervous system involvement.

Dr. Gonzalez’s unwavering passion for Hematology and Oncology is evident not only through his extensive clinical work and groundbreaking research, but also through his numerous publications, dedicated volunteer efforts, and valuable teaching experiences.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys a well-rounded lifestyle with hobbies that include watching soccer, traveling, and cherishing time with his family.
