Dr. Katherine Kleinsteuber is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner. She became a professional Registered Nurse when she graduated from New Mexico Junior College School of Nursing in 2005. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in May 2009 at New Mexico State University where she was a Crimson Scholar and a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Her Master of Science in Nursing degree was obtained from the University of New Mexico in August 2013. Her strong attention to detail and aptitude in learning was the key to her success while at Texas Tech University Health Science Center she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in May 2017.
Katherine is a leader and motivator who continues to excel in her career and aspires to be a political leader for change in healthcare. She has experience as a Hospitalist, in ER, ICU, orthopedics, and surgery settings. Prior to her move to New Mexico, she was a member of the Advanced Practice Nurses of the Permian Basin for which she served as the Legislative Committee Chair and President-Elect. She was an active member of the Texas Nurse Practitioners where she served as part of the Education Committee and she was also a member of the Texas Nurses Association. She continues to serve the American Nurses Association and is currently a member of the Oncology Nursing Society.
Katherine is a published author with a passion for genetics and helping others. She enjoys spending time with her family, getting to know her community, and reading.
