Gilda Gomez has joined the Kymera family.
Dr. Gilda Gomez has over 34 years of experience in Medical Oncology and Hematology. Prior to joining Kymera Independent Physicians, Dr. Gomez served as an Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of South Florida and was a staff medical Oncologist and Hematologist at James Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She has an extensive background in Hematology and Medical Oncology specializing in blood disorders, both benign and malignant, as well as solid malignancies.
Dr. Gilda Gomez completed Medical School in 1989 and was honored Best Medical Student at Universidad Evangelica De El Salvador. In 1991, she completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Instituto Salvadoreno Seguro Soual in El Salvador. She was then awarded a scholarship by the Mexican Government in 1992, where she completed her fellowship in Hematology at Instituto Nacional de Ciencias de Medicina Interna y Nutricion, in Mexico City. She took the National Hematology Exam in 1995 and received the best score at the national level.
Dr. Gomez also completed a residency program in Internal Medicine from University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She was also the chief resident of Internal Medicine at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She then completed her fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center at the University of South Florida from 1995-1998.
Dr. Gilda Gomez served as a community Medical Oncologist and Hematologist in Florida, Texas, Missouri, Guam, El Salvador, and now New Mexico.
Dr. Gomez provides compassionate, patient-centered care for her patients. She will be serving Southeastern New Mexico from the Roswell Cancer Center.
Dr. Gomez speaks both English and Spanish.
When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Gomez enjoys swimming, dancing, and beach sports.
