Ajaz Bulbul, MBBS, MD, practices across the three Kymera cancer centers. In addition, Dr. Bulbul serves as an adjunct assistant professor of internal medicine, hematology, and oncology at Texas Tech University and the University of New Mexico and serves as a preceptor for University of New Mexico medical students.
Dr. Bulbul obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Jammu and his Doctor of Medicine degree, with a focus on hematology and medical oncology, from the University of Southern California. He is Triple Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology.
Dr. Bulbul is a member of the American Society of Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the European Society of Medical Oncology, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the New Mexico Medical Board, the New Mexico Society of Clinical Oncology and the California Medical Association. He has authored over 40 publications and also writes a cancer column blog, Cancer Roundup where he advises on treatment strategies and answers patient questions. His research in Desmoplastic Sarcomas has identified a novel treatment paradigm that may be able to target Androgen receptors in that tumor. He has written multiple authoritative papers on treating patients with Lung and Breast cancer. His paper on the treatment of DSRCT is the reference review paper to treat this cancer. He has also presented in multiple cancer conferences across the world including ASCO and ESMO.
In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, trail running, listening to music, traveling and playing cricket. Dr. Bulbul has qualified for multiple Mountain Trail Ultra Running competitions around the world running up to 50 miles in the mountains!
